I just found this music video on youtube and I wanted to share it with everyone! I thought this was a good song by GEM, even though the MV is a little obsessed with the make out scenes! lol But GEM Tang is one of my favorite Cantonese singers, so I hope you enjoy the song!

Free Smells

Hosted By: Flickr I was sorting through some of my pictures earlier today from my trip to Raleigh (our state’s capital) on New Year’s Eve this past year and I found this picture I took at a bakery located in the heart of downtown Raleigh. This bakery is on Fayetteville Road, which is named after my city! Anyways I just thought the neon sign was rather catchy and clever! I wish I remembered the name of the little bakery, but it was a beautiful building, which was surrounded entirely by glass panels! πŸ˜› Anyways just thought I’d share this with you all!

We have been trying to catch some of the stray cats that love to hang out around our house and now we have three kittens who look like the little guy in this video. If you are interested in a cute friendly little kitten either message me or leave a comment. This offer is only good for people who live in the Fayetteville area or are willing to drive to Fayetteville North Carolina! Thanks and enjoy my silly post!

Past Praxis Exam

•May 10, 2011 • 2 Comments

For those of you who are interested, I have successfully passed my Praxis on the first try and I have finished all of the requirements for the admissions process in the education department. The funny thing is my EDUC 211 instructor was trying to convince me I would not pass the Praxis, even though I have outstanding grades throughout all my classes (both past and present). I did not tell him this, but as I walked out of his office I simply said to myself, “I’m serving someone higher”. God has brought me this far along and He is not going to allow anything to prevent me from fulfilling my calling. I also had an interview today, which is the final part in the admissions process. The interview was pretty relaxed and went extremely well! So thank you for all your prayers and I will let everyone know once I am accepted into the education program at Fayetteville State University! πŸ˜›

Praxis Test #3- Math

•May 2, 2011 • 2 Comments

Hey everyone! I just wanted to fill you all in with what I am doing this week. So tomorrow I am taking the last part of the Praxis exam, which is the entrance exam for the education department at uni. So everyone please be praying for me and that I pass this math section of the praxis exam. Without passing this exam, I will have to wait until next semester before I can register for my classes. Because most of the classes that I need now, I cannot take because I am not in the education program. Anyways after the Praxis exam tomorrow (it is at 2:30 EST), I will then need to take a Physical Science Exam!!! My brain is going to be fried, but thankfully Thursday is our last day for this semester!

Usama Bin Laden

•May 1, 2011 • Leave a Comment

Well today is an important day for freedom! Osama Bin Laden has just been confirmed dead by the American government. This evil man can no longer cause anymore deaths or lead thousands of confused people astray. I only pray that God changed his life in the last few seconds of his life. I don’t wish hell on anyone… We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Biblically speaking, we are no better than Him, that is why it is important to ask Jesus in our lives. He is the only solution in our acceptance to heaven. But I only pray that this will send a strong message to the terrorists who are against the West and Christianity!

Real-life Angry Birds!

Hosted By: Flickr Angry Birds is probably my favorite game on my iPod! I have almost completed every level and I recently purchased Angry Birds Rio! Needless to see when I saw these Angry Birds stuff toys in FYE, I smiled from ear to ear. I cannot believe they actually have little toys of the Angry Birds! The only negative is that these little stuff toys were $10USD! That is rather expensive for a tiny little stuff animal. Well at least I got a picture of them! πŸ˜›

Brandless Products

Companies like Adidas, Apple, Nokia and Nissin are all international brands that customers in the West are probability more than familiar with. In my household alone we have brands that vary from all over the world, a rice cooker from South Korea (Lihom), a TV from Japan (Sony) and a pocket knife from Switzerland (Swiss Army Knife). These brands have managed to obtain an international brand that have penetrated markets all across the globe. But with these brands, how many of them are Chinese brands? China has become the second leading economy in the world, yet it has not successfully managed to generate an international brand as of yet. Not only is it the second economy economy in the world as of 2010, but it is known as the world’s factory. America imports a huge percentage of its goods from China, yet they still are not known for their brands. The term for Chinese brands are typically known here in America as “no name brands” or “brandless products”.

With China becoming more of a major role in the world, it is about time for China to establish some global brands. I was reading an article from Monocle about this topic and I found it very interesting. After Monocle interview some of the many Chinese brands interviewed, they came to the conclusion that many Chinese brands do not wish to establish an international brand! The profit margins of some of these companies are so small that many cannot afford the jump into an unknown market. Unlike many European or American brands who have plenty of money to test markets, the Chinese markets are not in the same situation. These western brands have already established their brands and have been drawing in plenty of profit, whereas the Chinese have not established their brands. This scenario is almost as senseless as a college student graduating uni and then going out for a job interview and then the employer says that they do not have enough experience! Well of course, they have just gotten into the job market! But how can they obtain experience if they cannot get hired? Hmm anyways I highly recommend this international journal. Its called the Monocle and is from Britain. This is the primary reason for me driving to Barnes and Noble every month πŸ˜›

(For the sake of this article, I am using pictures of Hong Kong business that I took during my last trip. I am sure these HK businesses make much more money than businesses in the mainland, but I could be wrong)

Shout Out to Raising Rock Star

•April 14, 2011 • Leave a Comment

Today I was looking through my comments and I realized that one of the comments was from a blogger in Hong Kong! πŸ˜€ The blogger’s website is raisingrockstar.com and it seemed like a very nice little blog, much nicer than mine! πŸ˜› But I just wanted to give her a shout out because this seems like a really nice little blog and a really good idea. The tagline for the blog is “For when he becomes a teenager who knows everything”. So judging from the content and all the pictures I have seen on the blog, this is almost like a journal for this blogger’s son, so when he gets older he can look at all the material about HK and his early childhood. The blog also seems to be about living in Hong Kong and parenting in Hong Kong. Check it out and support this fellow Hongkonger and her blog!

Her latest post was a pretty funny music video about HK. Check it out! πŸ˜› Funny Song
