Christian Chinese Heritage- 李添嬡
Happy Tuesday everyone, this was a video that was posted in a group chat that I am part of with Morrison Chapel here in Macau by Reverend Stephen. It tells a brief history/ background of the first women ordained in the Anglican Church. Florence Li 李添嬡 was born in Hong Kong and during the terrible times Hong Kong suffered under Japanese occupation, the Anglican church appointed her to become a priest in the Anglican Communion. Many Chinese do not believe Christianity is an Eastern religion and consider it to be a Western religion. I think it is important to recognize those Chinese brothers and sisters in Christ who have made profound contributions to the Kingdom. I am actually working on another blog post at the moment and a special lesson for my students tomorrow concerning answers to hard questions they have asked about life and the Faith. But I wanted to take a brief pause and post this entry highlighting Florence Li. The Gospel is open to all of humanity. As Paul illustrates for us in the New Testament,
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” Ro 1:16–17
I hope that this is a topic I can come back to in greater depth in the future. God bless you all.

I am really looking forward to read more about how Christianity came about in the East and am super thankful you obeyed God when He called you to China and didn’t give you all the details! It had to be super scary to imagine spreading the gospel in another language, and more scary, to teens! Lol thanks for everything you do Mr Howard

Janely!!! Thank you so much for this amazing message of encouragement. I am sorry I didn’t see it earlier! I have unfortunately been so busy with our new move to Hong Kong, that it has been difficult to write on my blog recently. It has also been difficult finding time now that we have three little ones! Haha
God bless you Janely and even though we don’t talk often, I get excited to see your posts from time to time on IG and Facebook. Happy Easter!
