ok well I’m actually doing a webpick for today’s entry! If you all didn’t know I speak a little Japanese and I am currently learning Korean. I love Asian culture period and sometimes in order for me to learn more of either Japanese or Korean I’ll watch some of their dramas. A great website I found for checking out Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese, or Chinese dramas and movies is http://mysoju.com. This site is really awesome and it is like a hub to all of these different shows. I’ve been watching a couple of shows (especially in the kdrama section). I think you all should check it out, they have a hug selection. I’m sure you’d find whatever your looking for!

the Many Forms of Hello

Hello! 안녕! 你好! Hallo! Bonjour! Ciao! こんにちは! Olá! дравствуйте! Hola! You know out of all of the things that I love most about this world is our language! We all came from one Creator and we all are still unique in our own way. It totally shows off the wonder of our God! From Korean-Spanish we’re all considered equal and have the same amount of self value, but we are still completely different from the words we speak all the way to the way we dress.

A More Unified World

•March 6, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Right now we live in a world that is in total seperation. What exactly do I mean when we are in one of the most advance times in history? When we can hop a plan and travel anywhere in the world. We have an enormous abundance of information via the www. Well I’m speaking about seperation in the tech industry! 😛 haha We have a world of Windows, Mac, Linux and other smaller OS’s. Well as of now if we are on one platform we have to buy the software for the specific platform. Well thanks to Adobe that may be a thing of the past. Adobe has released Adobe Air! I have been very exacted about it since it debuted back in the day and it is finally reaching it’s maturity. With Adobe’s Air we know have the ability to write one program in AIR and then it will run on all Operating Systems that support Air. Well as of now Windows, Mac and Linux support Adobe’s Air! This is a landmark innovation in the tech department and I think it’ll just be a thing of the past to develop software on one platform! Us Mac and Linux users have been left out in the cold while Windows hogs all of the software development! Thank God Adobe is paving the way to a closer unified world!

Alizée

Lately I have been listening to Alizée a lot. I think she is an amazing artist. She’s been around for some while and she has a semi-new CD called “Psychédélices”. I really like this CD. I ordered mine on amazon for about $20. Alizée has released around 4 mainstream CDs but has also released special editions of her albums through limited countries. One example would be in Japan she released an English version of her very popular song “J’en ai marre”.A way from the music, Alizée is a very attractive young lady and something that I really think is awesome about her is her tatoo. Alizée has this really cool tatoo of Tinkerbell on her back and I think that’s real hott! lol Anyways I have really enjoyed her Psychédélices CD and I think it’s definitely something worth looking into. I’ve tried the iTunes store in the U.S.A and they do not offer this recent album but they do offer previous albums. So I think the best bet would be via Amazon.Another nidbit of information would be that I am using Alizée’s CD as a recommendation on our very first podcast that should be airing this coming Monday! The podcast is called CultureCast Radio and is hosted by Podshow.com. So we encourage you to listen to our podcast and you can subscribe soon via iTunes!

French or Chinese?

•March 4, 2008 • 1 Comment

ok, I am doing a different post today! I am debating on either taking French or Chinese. My local community college is offering French where as a local State College is offering Chinese (Mandarin to be exact). Which do you think I should go for? I’m currently learning Korean so the Chinese would help me with my Korean. Whereas the French would just be interesting to learn. I don’t know what to do! lol

Quarter Life

Ok well today I am doing a different post. I am doing a recommendation on a TV show. Just a quick little fact about myself, I don’t watch a lot of mainstream American TV anymore because they seem to be coming from the same direction. A majority of the shows seems to be replica’s of one another. I watch a lot of international television now thanks to my Apple TV! Anyways the reason I am telling you this is because this show caught my attention the day they started broadcasting over the internet. It’s called Quarter Life and so far they’ve been allowing you to stream free via myspace or their website  Quarter Life’s website. Now they are selling their content on iTunes. They’ve done such a great job with the series I think we should support them in their work. Right now they have a featurette up and a pilot episode on iTunes. The featurette is free so you might want to check that out and see a basis for the show. Hope you all enjoy!

My World

•February 28, 2008 • Leave a Comment

This poem was actually inspired by a friend near the end of the summer. She is in my heart still and I’ll always care for her.

I open my door of my house and look out onto the various wonders that await my life… I sense life, I sense death… The option of joy and the penalty of deception…. My foot crosses the threshold and the tip of my shoe touches the cold reality of my world. I hesitate and continue to be struck-en with wonder at this marvelous opportunity. I look across the street and see another open door. In front of the door i sense another life, another human being. Except her world is not at all like mine. She lives with depression, hurt, and despair… Her world is a reality that she prays to leave behind… And I can never step out of my world and follow her footsteps in her world… I am cursed to only stare and watch… I can reach out my hand, but from where I’m at, I can only reach so far. Though I can reach out and love, I can never relate to her pain. My mind wonders and I begin to focus back on my reality. My heart is consumed with curiosity for more in my life. So despite the horrors I could face, I pursue. I close my eyes and place both feet together. I gasp for air and count to three. 1…2… 3! I’m completely outside my world… I hear sounds that I am not accustomed to. I smell aromas that I have never been blessed before with. My eyes are light up with the vibrant colors that inhabit this beautiful world. I can touch and feel the winds of passion for knowledge against my cheek. I desire to experience what others experience and even something greater. I desire to experience something that no one has ever before or maybe even possible. But if I continue to walk down this road… Do I continue to exist? Or does my life just fade away into a vapor or become fused into the other lives of people?
